"As a potter with a sculptural background, I have always responded to the integrity of classic forms and proportions. Using these strong forms in my own work, I then alter and embellish them with ornamentation. Often the source of inspiration for these details comes from nature; shells, leaves, bee, etc. I have chosen the plant container as my main vehicle of expression. My pots are functional sculptures designed to be used. I enjoy seeing them completed by the potted plant or arrangement of flowers. I have also developed a wide range of sculpted glazed tiles. The tiles are sculpted in high relief and glazed. I also paint in oils, mostly plein air. Landscape painting is a particular passion."
